This is a summary of all the changes to Turbomaps. For more information, please see our blog.

November 2025

Drag and Drop: Reordering layers is now possible by dragging and dropping in the sidebar.
New Tutorial: The tutorial displayed when using Turbomaps for the first time has been simplified.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where pasting layers would not work.

Cut, Copy, and Paste is now supported.
UI Improvements:
- New layers or groups now have numbers appended to the name.
- The WASD keys can be used to pan the map.
- The editor has improved touch input—long press to bring up the context menu.

Bug Fixes:
- Deleting all the layers in a group will now automatically remove the containing group.
- Fixed an issue where the marker tool would create large rectangles at low zoom levels.
- Fixed an issue causing the app to freeze if new layers were created too quickly.
- Fixed an issue where individual points could not be deleted.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue causing locked layers to show transform controls if selected from sidebar.

Lock Layers: You can now lock layers to prevent them from being edited accidentally.
UI Improvements:
- Layers can be shown/hidden from the command search.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue parsing certain coordinates in degrees, minutes, seconds format.
- Fixed an issue causing nested layers to appear duplicated while being dragged.
- Context menus no longer overflow the page.

Groups:
- Groups have been introduced to organize layers.
- Point layers with multiple points have been converted to groups of points.
- GeoJSON data will be imported as a group, instead of individual layers.

Performance: The editor can now handle significantly more data, and runs significantly smoother.
Removals: Text alignment options have been temporarily removed.

Text Labels:
- The text field used for map labels can be customized.
- You can add the area or length of a layer as a label.

UI Improvements:
- Hovering over buttons in the navigation now show the action and keyboard shortcut.
- UI Colors have been tweaked to make text easier to read.
- Manipulating objects on the map is significantly smoother, especially on high-DPI displays.

Pencil Tool: The pencil tool now draws polygons that scale with the zoom level of the map.
Product Documentation: New section added to the site with product documentation.

Individual Points:
- Point layers can be expanded in the sidebar.
- You can now select and edit multiple points at once.
- It is easier to select a point without moving it.

Notes: You can now add notes to individual points.
Basemap Opacity: The opacity of the basemap can now be adjusted.
UI Improvements:
- The font has been changed to be easier to read, particularly on screens with lower pixel density.
- You can now zoom to your current location.
- Extra animations have also been added to the UI.
Bug Fixes:
- Converting a line to a polygon will no longer cause an error.
- A message is now displayed if search results were found.

US Customary Units: The ruler tool now displays measurements in both metric and United States customary units.
Bug Fixes:
- Names are now preserved when layers are flattened
- Fixed a flickering issue when creating a new line.
- Removed duplicate coordinates in GeoJSON exports.

Dark Mode: Turbomaps now has a dark theme if you are using a dark system theme.
Zoom to Layer: Specific layers can be zoomed to, or all layers can be zoomed to fit.

Paste Coordinates: Paste coordinates into the app to have a point added to the map.

New Editor Features: Reorder, flatten, and duplicate layers. Ruler tool now automatically converts between different units.
Improved Data Editor: Editor is more resilient to bad data, and files/layers can be larger.
Email Verification: Before creating a new map, email addresses must be verified.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue causing layers to flicker.
- Fixed an issue that prevented drag and drop imports from working.
